The Mints directory documents the private mints, issuers, and distributors behind Texas commemorative and bullion coinage — the full production chain, not just the coins themselves. A "mint" struck the physical piece; an "issuer" authorized and commissioned the program; a "distributor" brought the finished coins to market. The same coin often involved all three, sometimes as the same company and sometimes as separate businesses working together, and untangling those relationships is central to accurate Texas numismatic attribution.

Many Texas-themed coins were actually struck by out-of-state private mints — companies like Rarities Mint of Anaheim, California and Osborne Coinage of Cincinnati, Ohio produced commemorative rounds for Texas events and organizations despite having no Texas presence themselves.
