Depicts the Freedom Girl, a youthful female figure facing left with flowing hair. The inscription "FREEDOM" appears along the left border. A triquetra symbol is positioned near the shoulder, representing the interconnected principles of liberty, knowledge, and responsibility.

Features the Silver Bullet Silver Shield emblem centered on a shield over a spread of rifle cartridges. The inscriptions include: SILVER BULLET SILVER SHIELD, A CONSCIOUS SOLUTION, LISTEN TO ALL • FOLLOW NONE, TO COLLECTIVIST PROBLEMS. The center of the shield contains: 2013, 1 oz, .999 Fine Ag, AOCS Approved.
This round carries the AOCS Approved mark directly on the reverse and was manufactured/distributed by Mulligan Mint under the AOCS Mint program, consistent with AOCS Mint's own documented manufacturing table ("early Silver Bullet Silver Shield releases"). Issuer is attributed to AOCS Mint (Rob Gray) rather than Chris Duane personally, matching the treatment applied to other AOCS-marked SBSS output; Duane is credited as the design's creative originator (concept), with sculpting by Heidi Wastweet. This round predates the 2013–2014 Gray/Duane partnership split.

2013 Freedom Girl SBSS Overview
The 2013 Freedom Girl SBSS Silver Round is a privately issued one-ounce silver round released as part of the Silver Bullet Silver Shield (SBSS) series under the AOCS Mint program. It was manufactured and distributed by Mulligan Mint of Dallas, Texas — the same manufacturing partner documented across AOCS Mint’s broader early-2010s output — and carries the AOCS Approved designation directly on the reverse.
The obverse features the now-iconic Freedom Girl portrait, designed by Chris Duane in concept and sculpted by Heidi Wastweet, symbolizing individual liberty and free thought. The reverse incorporates the Silver Bullet Silver Shield insignia surrounded by ammunition, reinforcing the series’ recurring themes of sound money, personal responsibility, and resistance to collectivism. Since its introduction, Freedom Girl has become the signature design of the SBSS/Silver Shield lineage and remains one of the most recognizable privately issued bullion designs of the modern era.
This round predates the 2013–2014 Gray/Duane partnership split that later divided the series into two separate lines — Gray’s continuing AOCS-affiliated SBSS output and Duane’s independent Silver Shield brand (see the AOCS Mint page for that history). As an AOCS Mint program release carrying the AOCS Approved mark, it is attributed here to AOCS Mint as Issuer, consistent with the site’s treatment of other AOCS-marked SBSS output, with Chris Duane credited as the design’s creative originator.
2013 Freedom Girl SBSS Historical Significance
The 2013 Freedom Girl represents one of the defining issues of the early Silver Bullet Silver Shield program under the AOCS Mint umbrella. Produced through Mulligan Mint, the design established the artistic identity of the series and became its enduring emblem. Freedom Girl has since appeared in numerous subsequent releases, precious metal compositions, and special editions — both within the continuing AOCS/SBSS line and, after the 2014 split, in variant form under Chris Duane’s separate Silver Shield brand — making it one of the most recognizable modern private bullion designs.
