Overview
Mulligan Mint, Dallas Texas often branded as M2 or M², was a private mint, established in 2012. Founded by Rob Gray and Phil Pozderac, the mint was created to provide in-house manufacturing for the American Open Currency Standard (AOCS) movement and related precious metals programs.
Unlike many private issuers that outsourced production, Mulligan Mint operated a vertically integrated facility capable of melting, casting, rolling, blanking, rimming, annealing, burnishing, and striking its own precious metal medallions. The mint produced silver, copper, and gold issues for a variety of hard-money, alternative currency, and self-determination organizations.
Mulligan Mint is best known for producing rounds associated with the Republic of Texas, Lakota Nation, Atooi Nation, American Redoubt, Ron Paul supporters, The Survival Podcast, Bill of Rights Trust, Silver Shield, and numerous other organizations active in the sound-money movement of the early 2010s.
History
According to company records, the origins of Mulligan Mint trace to late 2011 when Rob Gray investigated delivery delays involving customer silver held by Old Glory Mint in Salt Lake City, Utah.
After personally recovering a customer’s silver order, Gray concluded that the AOCS movement required a reliable in-house minting operation rather than dependence on outside manufacturers.
On February 1, 2012, Gray and longtime associate Phil Pozderac began organizing the new mint. The company was named after Midas Mulligan, the fictional banker and industrialist from Ayn Rand’s novel Atlas Shrugged.
The project was financed through a combination of private funding and bullion-backed lending arrangements from supporters who provided silver to help establish operations. By mid-2012, Mulligan Mint had acquired and installed production equipment capable of complete in-house minting operations.
In February 2013, Mulligan Mint announced the acquisition of significant assets from Old Glory Mint, including a rolling mill, annealing oven, domain name, customer records, die inventory, sculpt inventory, and original artwork.
Company records indicate rapid growth during 2012 and 2013. In March 2014, Mulligan Mint announced a public sale of assets. Archived website captures show reduced activity afterward, a suspended website in 2015, and a placeholder page by 2018.

Phil Pozderac, a former Dallas Cowboys offensive lineman, oversaw equipment installation and mint operations during the company’s formative years.
Philosophy
Mulligan Mint described itself as an “unincorporated voluntary association” and promoted principles centered on voluntary exchange, sound money, private property, individual liberty, and free-market economics.
These themes were reflected throughout the mint’s product offerings and partnerships and help explain the wide range of alternative currency, constitutional, and sovereignty-themed issues produced by the mint.
