Portrait of Andrew Jackson facing slightly left, with ANDREW JACKSON along the upper rim and the dates 1767–1845 stacked at left.

Equestrian statue of Andrew Jackson beneath the legend BY ETERNAL GOD I WILL ROUT YOU OUT, with FEDERAL RESERVE ACT 1913 above a large FIFTY across the center. Below: ONE TROY OUNCE .999 FINE SILVER, WWW.JACKSONSILVER.COM, and ©2009 · AOCS APPROVED.
The original 2009 issue was struck with mirrored fields and frosted devices, producing a proof-like appearance. The reverse bears the ©2009 copyright inscription, distinguishing it from later editions. The round served as the master design from which later Andrew Jackson variants evolved.
This is the 2009 Proof-like version - a companion release to the 2013 Business Strike coin, distinguished by its proof (mirrored) finish and reverse date. The two are frequently conflated in seller listings and search results, so titles alone aren't always reliable for telling them apart. With 121 verified sales, this is one of the more actively traded coins researched to date, though a roughly 20-month gap in 2020-2022 kept it from the top availability tier.

2009 Andrew Jackson Proof-Like Overview
The 2009 Andrew Jackson Proof-Like silver round is the original issue of the Andrew Jackson bullion design, released under the American Open Currency Standard (AOCS) program and issued and distributed by Jackson Silver of Austin, Texas, whose web address is struck into the reverse. Jackson Silver marketed it as the “Andrew Jackson Anti-Banker” round, and the design carries that message on its face rather than leaving it to the sales copy.
The obverse is restrained: a portrait of Jackson facing slightly left, ANDREW JACKSON along the upper rim, and his dates, 1767–1845, stacked at the left. Everything the round has to say is on the reverse. Above the equestrian statue of Jackson runs BY ETERNAL GOD I WILL ROUT YOU OUT, the close of a threat attributed to Jackson in later accounts of his 1832 confrontation with the Second Bank of the United States. Directly beneath the statue, FEDERAL RESERVE ACT 1913 names the institution the round’s issuers regarded as the Bank’s successor. A large FIFTY spans the center — the round’s AOCS trade value, struck into the design in the denominated format AOCS used on several 2009 issues — followed by ONE TROY OUNCE .999 FINE SILVER, WWW.JACKSONSILVER.COM, and ©2009 · AOCS APPROVED along the bottom rim. The pairing of an 1832 quotation with a 1913 statute is the whole argument of the piece compressed into two lines.
Jackson was an obvious figure for the AOCS movement to adopt. His veto of the Bank’s recharter, the removal of federal deposits, and the Specie Circular made him the one president whose record could be read as hard-money policy carried out against a central bank, and the alternative-currency community of 2009 was organized around exactly that grievance. The round doesn’t commemorate Jackson so much as enlist him; contemporary dealer listings leaned on the same framing, presenting it as “real money that he would be proud of” and noting the irony of his portrait on the Federal Reserve’s twenty-dollar note.
The finish is proof-like: mirrored fields with frosted portrait, statue, and lettering. Period dealer listings describe it as a “beautiful proof design” and “mirror like finish” at 39 mm, and the round was in the secondary market by October 2009, which fixes the release to that year independently of the struck copyright. The same design was reissued in 2013 as a business strike with ©2013 on the reverse — see the 2013 Andrew Jackson Business Strike (Reissue) — and the two are routinely conflated in seller titles, so the copyright year and the finish are the reliable separators.
2009 Andrew Jackson Proof-Like Attribution
The struck legend establishes the program: WWW.JACKSONSILVER.COM on the reverse ties the round to Jackson Silver, and archived Republic Trading Group materials document JacksonSilver as the associated marketing program. Jackson Silver is recorded as both Issuer and Distributor for the 2009 release. Its online activity appears to have ceased around the time AOCS Mint began offering the round through its own storefront, documented in archived captures of aocsmint.com from 2011. Whether that was a formal transfer of distribution, an informal handoff, or coincidence has not been established and remains open.
No manufacturer is identified on the round. The Mint field records AOCS Mint, the organizational entity under which AOCS Approved rounds were struck; based on the 2009 production period and the body of AOCS Mint documentation, production is attributed to North American Mint as the contract partner of that era. This is an attribution, not a confirmation, pending a period source naming the mint. The production-partner history for the AOCS program lives on the AOCS Mint page.
AOCS APPROVED is struck on the reverse, which qualifies the round for the AOCS Collection under the site’s mark standard. It identifies participation in the American Open Currency Standard program and should not be read as evidence that AOCS was the manufacturer or legal issuer. The FIFTY denomination is the AOCS trade value; it was assigned by the program, not by Jackson Silver.
2009 Andrew Jackson Proof-Like Notes
- Original issue of the Andrew Jackson design; marketed by Jackson Silver as the “Andrew Jackson Anti-Banker” silver round.
- Proof-like finish: mirrored fields, frosted devices and lettering. The 2013 reissue is a business strike.
- Struck reverse legends carry the full message — the Jackson quotation, FEDERAL RESERVE ACT 1913, and the FIFTY trade value — with the obverse limited to portrait, name, and dates.
- Documented on Numista as N#21897, which records the 2009 legends without the © symbol; the copyright mark is struck.
- In the marketplace by October 2009; period dealer listings quote 39 mm and “AOCS Trade Value 50.”
- Portrait side treated as obverse, following the AOCS-era convention and Numista; the ©2009 on the statue side is a copyright, not a struck issue date.
