The ‘Ole Coyote

Overview

The 2007 Texas Silver Dollar – Ole Coyote is part of the Texas Silver Dollar Collection, made by The Texas Mint & Mercantile, Whitney TX, continuing the annual program that celebrated Texas heritage through modern private-mint silver rounds. The 2007 issue features the “Ole Coyote” design, reflecting western themes and regional symbolism within the broader Texas Dollar program. The reverse continues the standardized Texas Dollar Lone Star design format incorporating the recurring heart motif.

Story of The ‘Ole Coyote

“The 2007 Texas Silver dollar commemorates the beauty of the nighttime Texas sky and Mr. Coyote who howls in the cold night air and makes the hair stand up on your neck. Ole Coyote is a lasting symbol of the Wild West being one of the largest wild inhabitants of wild country, rural lanes and even the golf courses of the city. He’s adapted and will be the survivor of all the perils of civilization.” – Rick Pinner
