Texas Mint and Mercantile, Whitney TX
Overview
The Texas Silver Dollar Collection is a series of one-troy-ounce .999 fine silver rounds issued by Texas Mint and Mercantile in Whitney, Texas.
The program began with the concept in 1997, followed by development and minting during 1997–1998. Public sales of the coins began on July 5, 1998, though the first coins carried the date 2000 as a millennium-themed issue celebrating Texas entering the new century.
Beginning in 2001, the program introduced a new design each year, ultimately producing a total of ten one-ounce silver rounds dated 2000–2009. Each design highlights a different element of Texas heritage, ranging from wildlife and ranch culture to iconic symbols of the state.
The coins were struck in one troy ounce of .999 fine silver and feature a standardized reverse design used throughout the series.
Although privately issued, the Texas Dollars were marketed and collected similarly to modern bullion rounds and regional commemoratives.

Legacy
The Texas Dollar program represents one of the most distinctive modern private mint series produced in Texas. Through consistent annual releases and unified artistic design, the series reflects Rick Pinner’s vision of celebrating Texas identity through collectible silver art.
Today the coins are collected both as silver bullion pieces and historical artifacts documenting a unique chapter in Texas private minting.
