NTR Metals Overview
NTR Metals USA was a Dallas, Texas-based precious metals refiner, bullion manufacturer, and recycler founded in 2004 by John Loftus. The company combined refining, bullion manufacturing, recycling, wholesale trading, and precious metals distribution within a single organization. They operate over 75 locations.
Unlike most private mints, NTR was not built around a single manufacturing facility or retail brand. Instead, it created the operational backbone of the Elemetal organization, integrating refining, manufacturing, and bullion distribution into a coordinated precious metals enterprise.
Within Texas numismatics, NTR is best known for acquiring the manufacturing assets of Mulligan Mint, Dallas TX in 2014, preserving and expanding Dallas-based private minting through the 2012 combination of NTR Metals and Ohio Precious Metals under a newly formed parent holding company – originally named Global Metals Holdings, LLC, later renamed Elemetal, LLC. Output from the relocated Mulligan equipment was later marketed under the “Provident Mint” name by Provident Metals LLC, Dallas TX before transitioning to Elemetal Mint, Dallas TX. Today that same mint operates as Cutsaw Mint, Dallas TX.

NTR Metals Corporate History
Founded in Dallas, Texas, in 2004 by John Loftus, NTR Metals initially specialized in refining and recycling gold, silver, platinum, and palladium recovered from jewelry, industrial, and bullion sources. Through rapid expansion, the company developed a vertically integrated business combining refining, bullion manufacturing, metals trading, and recycling. NTR added bullion manufacturing, recycling, wholesale trading, logistics, and precious metals purchasing, creating a vertically integrated business serving both wholesale and retail markets.
As the organization continued to grow, the Elemetal brand became the public identity for many of its operations while NTR remained the operating company behind the enterprise.
In 2014, NTR acquired substantially all of the manufacturing assets of Dallas-based Mulligan Mint through bankruptcy proceedings. A documented Bill of Sale shows NTR acquiring the mint’s presses and associated manufacturing equipment, which were relocated to NTR’s existing facility at 2710 Electronic Lane, Dallas. Mulligan’s minting dies were separately acquired by SBSS, and the mint’s former leased premises at 13835 Welch Road, Farmers Branch — never an NTR or Mulligan-owned property — were not part of the acquisition.
In June 2015, NTR Metals was officially rebranded as Elemetal Direct as part of a unified corporate identity that aligned the group’s refining, trading, minting, and recycling businesses under the Elemetal name. The underlying operations and management remained in place while the company adopted the new branding.
Beginning in 2017, legal and regulatory issues led to the restructuring of the organization. Although the original NTR / Elemetal enterprise was reorganized, many of its facilities, brands, and operating businesses continue under new ownership. As a result, bullion products, corporate records, and marketing materials from this period may bear either the NTR Metals or Elemetal name depending on when they were produced.
NTR Metals Manufacturing
Although refining remained NTR’s primary business, manufacturing became an important part of the organization following the acquisition of Mulligan Mint. It appears for some time Provident Metals was associated with the mint operations, then gradually gave way to Elemetal Mint and later Cut Saw Mint as the organization’s public manufacturing identity.
Asset Disposition — Mulligan Mint (2014)
Mulligan Mint operated from a leased facility at 13835 Welch Road in Farmers Branch, Texas; the building itself was never a Mulligan or NTR asset. Following Mulligan’s Chapter 11 filing and the resulting bankruptcy sale, NTR Metals acquired the mint’s presses and associated manufacturing equipment, while the minting dies were separately acquired by SBSS. Real estate was not part of the settlement. The acquired equipment was relocated to NTR’s existing facility at 2710 Electronic Lane, Dallas — a site NTR continues to own today per Dallas County Appraisal District records. Output from that facility was marketed under the “Provident Mint” name by Provident Metals LLC — a marketing label rather than a separate legal mint entity — before the site’s manufacturing identity transitioned to Elemetal Mint and, later, present-day Cutsaw Mint.

NTR Metals Attribution
NTR’s significance to Texas numismatics lies in preserving and expanding private bullion manufacturing in Dallas. Through the acquisition of Mulligan Mint’s manufacturing assets, NTR integrated private minting into a much larger precious metals organization that later marketed its manufacturing under the “Provident Mint” name and, subsequently, the Elemetal Mint identity.
