2015 Chris Kyle Frog Foundation Overview
The 2015 Chris Kyle Frog Foundation Texas 1 oz Silver Proof Round was issued as part of an authorized commemorative precious-metals program honoring U.S. Navy SEAL Chris Kyle and benefiting the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation which is now the Taya and Chris Kyle Family Foundation. The program was developed in collaboration with Global Monetary Reserve LLC (GMR), now American Standard Gold, of The Woodlands, Texas, which marketed and distributed the series.
Announced on October 2, 2015, the commemorative program was released beginning Veterans Day, November 11, 2015, the first anniversary of the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation. This variety pairs the Foundation’s distinctive frog-skeleton emblem with a Texas reverse, recognizing Kyle’s birthplace, home, and final resting place.
About Chris Kyle
Christopher Scott Kyle (1974–2013) was a Texas-born U.S. Navy SEAL who served four tours during the Iraq War and received numerous military decorations, including two Silver Stars and five Bronze Stars with Valor. Following his military service, Kyle became widely known through his 2012 memoir American Sniper and continued working with veterans after returning to Texas.
Kyle was killed on February 2, 2013, at a shooting range near Chalk Mountain, Texas. His wife, Taya Kyle, subsequently established the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation to continue their shared commitment to supporting military members, first responders, and their families. The Texas design on this round reflects Kyle’s particularly strong connection to his home state, described in the original commemorative literature as his birthplace, final resting place, and the place he wanted to call home.

2015 Chris Kyle Frog Foundation Notes
The 5,000-piece mintage reported in 2016 should be associated only with the original American Flag silver proof unless evidence is found extending that figure to the Texas issue.
Although contemporary promotional materials call these pieces “coins,” they have no governmental denomination or legal-tender status and are more accurately classified numismatically as privately issued commemorative silver rounds or medals.
