Within Texas numismatics, Elemetal is best known for continuing and expanding the private minting operations established through NTR Metals‘ 2014 acquisition of Mulligan Mint‘s manufacturing assets. Elemetal Corporate History

Elemetal emerged during the early 2010s as the unified public brand for the rapidly expanding NTR Metals organization. Rather than creating a new precious metals company, the Elemetal name brought together refining, manufacturing, wholesale trading, logistics, and retail distribution under a common identity.

As the organization expanded, the Elemetal brand became associated with a broad range of precious metals services, including commercial refining, bullion manufacturing, industrial recycling, logistics, vaulting, and wholesale distribution.

One of the organization’s most significant developments occurred in 2014 when NTR Metals acquired substantially all of the manufacturing assets of Dallas-based Mulligan Mint through bankruptcy proceedings. The acquisition expanded the organization’s private minting capabilities and provided the manufacturing foundation for the evolution from Provident Mint to Elemetal Mint.

By the mid-2010s, Elemetal had become one of North America’s largest integrated precious metals organizations, operating across refining, manufacturing, wholesale trading, recycling, and bullion distribution. In June 2015, Elemetal announced strategic name changes that unified its operating companies under the Elemetal brand while stating that management and corporate structure remained unchanged:

  • Elemetal Direct (global network of direct-to-customer locations; previously named NTR Metals)
  • Elemetal Refining (LBMA and COMEX good delivery, high-volume refiner; previously named OPM Metals) 
  • Elemetal Capital (wholesale trading of physical metal, derivatives and foreign exchange)

  • Elemetal Vault (secure, online trading and storage for precious-metals investors)
  • Elemetal Mint (private minting of premium bullion, bars and ultra-high-relief coins)
  • Elemetal Recycling (large-scale processor of circuit boards and electronic waste; previously named Echo Environmental)

Beginning in 2017, legal and regulatory issues resulted in the restructuring of the organization. While many operating companies were sold or reorganized, the Elemetal brand continued within portions of the precious metals industry, and refining operations remain active in Dallas.

Elemetal Manufacturing

Elemetal Mint served as the manufacturing identity of the broader Elemetal organization rather than a separately incorporated minting company. Operating as part of the integrated NTR / Elemetal enterprise, it produced bullion bars, rounds, and private-label products for both internal brands and outside customers.

The manufacturing operation represented the continuation of the private minting capabilities acquired by NTR Metals in 2014 through the purchase of substantially all of Mulligan Mint’s manufacturing assets. As the organization unified its public branding, the earlier Provident Mint identity gradually transitioned to Elemetal Mint.

Following the restructuring of the Elemetal organization beginning in 2017, the Elemetal Mint identity largely disappeared from the marketplace. Current research indicates that Cut Saw LLC now manufactures Elemetal-branded bullion products, although the precise transition of the original Elemetal manufacturing operation remains under investigation.
