Chris Duane – Silver Shield Overview
Chris Duane – Silver Shield – is an American precious metals advocate, author, designer, and issuer of privately issued bullion rounds. He is best known as the creator and issuer of the Silver Bullet Silver Shield (SBSS) series, a privately issued bullion program introduced in 2012 that combines original artwork with themes promoting sound money, individual liberty, and economic education.
Duane began producing bullion rounds following his 2012 congressional testimony on community currencies. The earliest Silver Bullet Silver Shield issues were manufactured and distributed by Mulligan Mint of Dallas, Texas before production transitioned to Golden State Mint in 2014. Throughout these manufacturing changes, Duane has remained the issuer and principal creative force behind the collection.
In addition to overseeing the development of the Silver Shield program, Duane has designed numerous issues within the series while collaborating with medallic artists, including Heidi Wastweet and others, on additional releases.
