Attribution Notes

Manufacturer (Rearden Metals Pte Ltd, Singapore) and issuer/distributor (Blockchain Mint, McKinney, TX) are both confirmed directly from the round's own blister-card packaging, which is stronger evidence than the dealer-listing research this entry initially relied on. The Texas connection for this entry runs through the issuer/distributor, per this site's existing Blockchain Mint mint page, not through manufacturing, which remains in Singapore. Not to be confused with American Medallion Corporation (also abbreviated "AMC" elsewhere in this catalog) or with Anonymous Mint, whose designer Julie Lindquist was researched separately and does not apply to this piece. The $AMC ticker on the reverse refers to AMC Entertainment, one of the 2021 meme stocks depicted, not to a mint attribution.

2021 WallStreetBets Blockchain Mint Silver Round Overview

The 2021 WallStreetBets Blockchain Mint Silver Round is a privately minted, non-legal-tender bullion piece struck to commemorate one of the more unusual episodes in recent financial history: the January 2021 GameStop short squeeze. The round is struck in one troy ounce of .999 fine silver, individually numbered and blockchain-verified via Blockchain Mint’s authentication app, per the piece’s original blister-card packaging.

Manufacturing and retail sit with two different entities. The physical striking is done by Rearden Metals Pte Ltd, a Singapore-based private mint — “Southeast Asia’s Private Mint,” per the packaging itself. Retail distribution runs through Patriot Coins, the current McKinney, Texas–facing brand of Robert J. “Bobby” Gray’s operation, which traces back through Mulligan Mint (Dallas, 2012) to the American Open Currency Standard, founded by Gray in Frisco, Texas, in 2008. This is the same lineage documented on this site’s Blockchain Mint mint page.

The design commemorates the r/wallstreetbets subreddit, a retail-trading community that grew to millions of members by early 2021. In the final days of January and first days of February that year, coordinated retail buying — much of it organized on the WallStreetBets forum — drove GameStop’s share price from under $20 to a peak above $480, inflicting billions of dollars in losses on hedge funds that had bet heavily against the stock. The episode drew global media coverage and congressional hearings, and cemented terms like “diamond hands,” “to the moon,” and “stonks” in mainstream financial slang — all of which appear as design elements on this round.

The round carries a Texas connection on two fronts: the issuing/distributing brand, Blockchain Mint, operates out of McKinney, Texas, and the round’s subject, GameStop Corp., has been headquartered in Grapevine, Texas, since 2005.

2021 WallStreetBets Blockchain Mint Silver Round Attribution

Manufacturer: Rearden Metals Pte Ltd (Singapore) — named directly on the packaging’s reverse card, alongside a “Made in Singapore” mark Issuer/Distributor: Blockchain Mint (McKinney, TX) Designer/Engraver: Not documented

No designer or engraver credit has been located for this round in dealer listings, mint-issued materials, or on the packaging itself. An earlier research thread pursued a lead on designer Julie Lindquist, credited on rounds issued by the unrelated Anonymous Mint (in partnership with manufacturer Osborne Precious Metals) — that attribution does not carry over to this piece and should be treated as applicable only to the Anonymous Mint series it was originally researched for.

Manufacturer and issuer/distributor are confirmed directly from the round’s own packaging: the front card carries the “BLOCKCHAIN MINT” wordmark and “Southeast Asia’s Private Mint” tagline, while the reverse card names “Rearden Metals Pte Ltd” as the operating company beneath a “Made in Singapore” mark. This is stronger evidence than the dealer-listing research this entry initially relied on, and supersedes an earlier draft of this entry that (incorrectly) attributed the round to a predecessor name, “Cold Storage Coins,” based on an inference from the mint’s website copyright date rather than the coin’s own packaging.

It’s also worth flagging for site consistency: this round is sometimes shorthand-referenced as an “AMC round” — but that traces to the $AMC ticker struck on the reverse (AMC Entertainment, one of the meme stocks depicted), not to a mint attribution. This is unrelated to American Medallion Corporation, the AMC already used elsewhere in this catalog (e.g., the AMC Mythological Legends Series). The two should not be conflated in cataloguing or search.

2021 WallStreetBets Blockchain Mint Silver Round Notes

  • Packaging identifies the piece as individually numbered and blockchain-verified via a QR code and unique code (visible on the example examined), tied to Blockchain Mint’s verification app.
  • Dealer listings report a mintage of 50,000 pieces for the Brilliant Uncirculated release; a separate antiqued version is reported at a much smaller mintage (circa 1,000 pieces) — treat as unconfirmed pending a primary mint source, since mintage is not stated on the packaging itself.
  • Dealer-reported diameter is 32 mm; pending this entry’s own measured confirmation (see Quick Facts).
  • Ticker symbols on the reverse photograph in at least one example appear mirrored relative to a normal reading orientation — worth confirming against the physical coin directly rather than relying on a photograph, since this may be a photography artifact rather than a die feature.
  • As of August 2026, the Texas State Securities Board issued an Emergency Cease and Desist Order (Feb. 11, 2026) against Blockchain Mint, TEXITcoin, MineTXC, and Robert J. Gray over unrelated cryptocurrency mining investment products — not the silver rounds. Worth noting as current mint-background context, not as anything bearing on this round’s attribution or authenticity.
  • Struck as non-legal-tender bullion; not affiliated with or endorsed by the r/wallstreetbets subreddit or its moderators, so far as documented.
